How to Record with miniSynth


1) Press the REC button to arm. The red recording light should begin flashing. This means that miniSynth is ready to record, but is NOT YET recording.

2) When ready to begin recording, press the PLAY button. The blinking red light should turn solid. This means that miniSynth is currently recording your performance.

3) When finished, press STOP. This should cause the red light to go off.

(Note: to "disarm" recording when the light is blinking, press the STOP button)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLAYBACK

You can play back a file you have just recorded, or you can play back a file you have previously recorded and saved.

To play back a file you have just recorded, press the PLAY button. Press the STOP button to stop.

To play back a file you have previously recorded and saved:

1) Press BROWSE button to launch the filebrowser.

2) Scroll and select a file you wish to play: this should launch a new screen, containing file information and audition buttons.

3) Press LOAD button to load the file onto the recording module.

4) Use PLAY and STOP buttons to control playback.

SAVING YOUR RECORDING

After you are finished recording, press SAVE button. This should automatically save the audio and assign it a unique filename. You can access your saved recordings by pressing the BROWSE button.

Note: unless you choose to save a recording, it will automatically get erased the next time you record, or whenever you exit miniSynth.

DELETING FILES

BROWSE->[select a file in the menu]->DELETE (you will be prompted if you are sure you would like to delete).

EXPORTING and IMPORTING FILES

0) Ensure that both your device and your computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and that you have a working connection for both.
1) Press EXPORT. This should bring up a new screen.
2) When the message "Wi-Fi is not Connected!" appears, put the slider in the ON position
3) Wait until the message is replaced by an URL of form


http://xxx.xx.xx.xx:xxxxx

Note: depending on the speed/type of your network and the model of your device, this may take up to a few minutes.

4) Enter the URL in your web browser to access the audio files in your device.

5) To download a file, right-click and choose save-as (or equivalent)

6) To upload a file, press the "Browse" button in the page on your web browser. Locate the audio file you would like to upload. When finished, press upload.

miniSynth can playback files in the following formats,

- mp3
- AAC
- WAV
- CAF


Note: file transfer times may vary depending on the size of the audio file and the speed/type of your network connection
