Latency correction

I've been using Tonestack as an effects processor
and as a creative mastering chain.

Running BM3 and Tonestack in parallel I quickly noticed that Tonestack is slightly delayed
so therefore doesn't invert to silence when inverting the polarity in AUM.

for instance
channel 1= BM3 send to bus A Output into Channel 3
channel 2= Receive from bus A into Tonestack as effect invert phase Output into Channel 3
channel 3= AudioMaster

Is there anyway to correct for the latency.
I've tried to offset it in AUM but with no success as yet.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Awesome apps by the way.

Well done for the quality, I've used quite a few of the hardware versions of effects and the emulations are really good.

Comments

  • My apologies.

Running BM3 into Tonestack isn't a latency problem.

To get true parallel cancellation the levels have to be matched.

To get almost true phase cancellation
the send output from BM3 into Tonestack should be at -0.2 dB (97%)
and Tonestack should be set to none on the audio output limiter.

That way when running audio out from BM3 into Tonestack
you get almost perfect phase cancellation.

I tested this in AUM on an iPad Pro 9.7 1st generation.

  • I have now managed to get absolute phase cancellation using
the audio levels input adjustment with the same Audio output limiter settings.

I'll post up further information if anyone needs to know.
